In today's world everyone should learn self-defense and survival skills. However certain groups have exceptional requirements that must be addressed in a very specialized manner. One of those important groups is the Law Enforcement community. Our Number one priority is Officer safety.
Members of this vast community which encompasses City, County, State and Federal Agencies as well as Corrections, Military Police, and the private security industry, have very specific needs in the area of Defensive Tactics, focusing primarily on controlling techniques, restraint and immobilization, weapon retention and disarming. And the technical material must be consistent with a philosophy that promotes safety and the reduction of liability.
Even many experts find the field of Police Defensive Tactics controversial and often confusing. Controversial because it deals with the sensitive area of the use of force; confusing because hundreds of jurisdictions and agencies have different policies, regulations, and restrictions. In addition, many court decisions and an ever-changing legal and social climate further complicate an already complex and difficult subject. Also, unfortunately, there are a lot of misconceptions, misinformation and, sometimes, conflict concerning the relationship between PDT and the Martial Arts.
All training is based on empty hand tactics only. No weapons training including and not limited to the use of Firearms or best practices, or the use of batons, or Tasers.
We teach realistic techniques that can be used on a suspect while still meeting and maintaining law enforcement standards based on the Force Continuum.
Officers will learn how to properly use a suspects own energy against them.
They will not need to rely on strength or size to overpower a violent suspect.
They will learn joint locking and control techniques. They will learn how to effectively apply pressure points for stuns and for control.
Most importantly is our officer ground survival. The officer ground survival program teaches the officer how to escape and retain control of their firearm at the same time.
